JOIN US IN NOLA: time for spring break

2010 Volunteer Manualavailable here. It is full of information for you to consider as you begin to plan and pack for your trip to the city.

You know it as the Big Easy, the Crescent City, and of course the Home of Mardi Gras...New Orleans goes by many names. There’s no place else quite like it, anywhere. Now’s your chance to experience the music, the food, the architecture, the history – once again or for the first time. The weather? Just about perfect in March.

Where to stay, how to get around. NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana) is on the rebound after the hurricanes, and there are plenty of lodging options for you during Historic Green: in the French Quarter, the Marigny District and throughout the city. We can also recommend several inexpensive housing options nearby. Before you arrive in town – by air, by rail or highway – we can also advise you on local transportation. Particularly earth-friendly ways of getting from here to there!

Home cooking, New Orleans style – and music, too. We like jambalaya, red beans and rice, étouffée, po boys and all kinds of jazz, blues, zydeco, funk, you name it... And while you’re in the Lower 9 for Historic Green, enjoy the real deal: authentic New Orleans cuisine, storytelling at The Village, and live music at many venues nearby.

Join us for a couple of days, a week, or as long as you like. Need more information about transportation, lodging, food and other essentials while you’re in town? Contact us today. If you’re interested in Volunteering, let us know that, too.
